MEET THE FOUNDER
ANNETTE HUBBER

Hi, I’m Annette Hubber, founder of Hubber Hubber Productions, creative content producer, event manager, and passionate storyteller.  With a career spanning over two decades in television, film, and events, I’ve dedicated myself to bringing people together through meaningful experiences and impactful storytelling.

I’m especially passionate about giving voice to marginalised youth, supporting them through skills development, and ensuring they know they have someone backing them. Whether it’s helping someone share their truth or creating a platform for emerging talent to share their story, my goal is always the same: to make every project feel as connected, warm, creative, and memorable as the people it's for. Hubber Hubber Productions, based in Newcastle NSW, is more than just an event and production company,  it’s a hub for connection, creativity, and stories that truly matter.

After relocating back to the Hunter region, I spent 14 years managing Screen Hunter (the regional film commission), where I also founded the Real Film Festival, a platform for authentic, social impact storytelling.  Today, I continue this mission through Hubber Hubber Productions, while also serving as Operations Manager of First Languages Australia. I’m also a devoted mum to two gorgeous girls and proud wife of Alan, my biggest supporter and sounding board. Life is wonderfully full, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

SPECIAL MENTION:

 — Tim Owen MP, NSW Legislative Assembly, 10 May 2012

I must make special mention of the very talented Annette Hubber. The Real Film Festival has the potential to become an event of national significance that will help position the Hunter and Central Coast regions as strong film and arts communities, and an innovator and facilitator of fresh and exciting initiatives.

Annette’s vision was clear: “We want to foster the art of story-telling, and make people look around at themselves and their own backyard for inspiration."

At the centre of this vision was Annette Hubber, whose work with Screen Hunter Central Coast helped create a platform for storytelling, industry development and regional connection.

I offer my most sincere congratulations to Annette because it was clear, after speaking with people who attended the inaugural event, that this objective was achieved with flying colours."
